About the Fund

The Iron Workers Tri-State Welfare Fund aims to reward the hard work you put in every day by providing you and your loved ones with comprehensive and affordable health care coverage. The Fund also offers the financial protection of disability, life, and accident insurance coverage and optional Dental and Vision care benefits.

Employee contributions are not required nor allowed. Contributing employers pay the full cost of coverage and make all contributions to the Fund. Contributions are based on the rates specified in applicable collective bargaining agreements.

If you work under the jurisdiction of Iron Workers Tri-State Welfare Fund and your employer contributes to the Fund on your behalf, you’re eligible for Plan benefits on the first day of the month after you accumulate 500 hours within a nine-month period. To maintain eligibility, you’ll need to accumulate at least 350 contribution hours in each eligibility quarter. See more details on Eligibility

The Fund is administered by the Board of Trustees, which consists of an equal number of Union and Employer members. The Board interprets, modifies, and makes all final decisions about the provisions of the Plan. See the current list of Trustees.
